About Qlik Sense
Imagine analytics so intuitive, anyone in your company could easily create personalised reports and dynamic dashboards to explore vast amounts of data and find meaningful insights.
That’s Qlik Sense — a revolutionary self-service data visualisation and discovery application designed for individuals and group collaboration. Qlik Sense lets you rapidly create visualisations, explore data deeply, and share insights instantly, to reveal connections in your data and see opportunities from every angle.
- In combination with the patented Qlik data indexing engine, smart visualisations let you uncover all data relationships across your data dimensions. You can easily explore in any direction to discover insights that would have been hidden in query-based or hierarchical tools.
- Not sure where to begin your analysis? No problem. Simply type in keywords, and let Smart Search connect the dots to reveal relationships between data, thanks to information from places you wouldn’t have thought to look.
- Qlik Sense connects to multiple data sources to provide more comprehensive views, without compromising performance.
- Our data storytelling functionality makes it easier to share analysis visually, communicate your findings with teams, and collaborate more efficiently.

Import into Qlik Sense Desktop
To get started, simply download Qlik Sense Desktop onto your computer.
Once Qlik Sense has been installed, you may download the REST connector which will give you access to Piano Analytics’s API.
To do this, download the QlikRestConnector_setup.exe file available on Qlik’s website (rom the Qlik Download Site): https://help.qlik.com/en-US/connectors/Subsystems/REST_connector_help/Content/Connectors_REST/Install-QV-REST-connector.htm
You can find detailed Qlik documentation here.
If you are unable to download this plugin, please contact Piano Analytics’s support teams, who will provide it to you via WeTransfer.
Once downloaded, there’s nothing more to do – the connector will automatically link to your Qlik Sense application.
Select a data source
In Qlik Sense, start a new project, a new sheet and select add data.
A connector window will open. The REST feature is here, as we’ve already downloaded it.
Click on REST. A window will open to create the connection to Piano Analytics’s API.
Create a rest setup
This important step enables you to create the setup of your REST connector and to import your Piano Analytics data into Qlik.
You will then be able to load a REST URL (in XML or JSON format) which you can obtain directly in the Data Query application within Piano Analytics’s Analytics Suite.
Create a query in Data Query
Build your query in Data Query and select the API REST URL relating to your dataset.
To be able to import data into Qlik, it’s mandatory to have the Data Explorer option enabled, which will give me access to the Data Query application.
Go into Data Query. Create a new template, or use an existing template:
Import data from Piano Analytics’s API into Qlik
Select the URL created at the bottom of your dataset, in JSON, HTML or XML format.
Only paste the beginning of your URL, up until GET DATA: https://apirest.atinternet-solutions.com/data/v2/json/getData
Paste this Data Query URL into the URL GET/JSON section of the setup window.
Then, you must login in order to access your data. Enter your Piano Analytics login and password.
Now, specify the different parameters that make up this API URL by detailing out each “Query parameter” one by one.
The URL obtained in Data Query offers the following parameters:
Carefully transfer these parameters over into the different fields below:
To test and save your data connection, be sure to verify that your conenction has a name, then click “next” using the small arrow at the bottom.
You’ll find all your imported data in a window which opens automatically.
Click on Datafeed > Rows to view your Piano Analytics data.
Click on load data to finish the procedure.
Once your data has been imported (visualised), you can easily build your own report (sheet) by following these steps:
Create your data representations using the available palette of visualisations.
To get more Piano Analytics data, you can create an exhaustive template in Data Query, or connect several templates by reproducing the above steps as many times as needed.
Activating this partnership activates the export of Piano Analytics data into Qlik. Only the data necessary for the proper functioning of the bridge are exported.
