There are two methods to test the result of the Data Manager rules: enter hits manually or use a hit panel.
Manual Entry:
The "Manual Entry" test is based on elements that you can enter directly on the interface depending on what you want to check: Hit parameters, URL and User-Agent.
To test a hit on a particular page, you can retrieve the hit sent to that page using the Tag Inspector plugin or your browser console.
For example, testing a hit on a variable that changes the page name:
You can use a manual entry test on a particular variable from 1 - Variables, or on all your variables from 3 - Deployment > Configuration Test.
Hit Panel:
Unlike the manual entry, the hit panel is based on your real hits received on your site over a given period. It can only be applied to all the variables from 3 - Deployment > Configuration test.
Which test to choose?
The choice of the test will depend on your needs. If you want to check the behavior of your variable according to data that you already collect, the hits panel will meet your need. If it is in anticipation of possible tracking, the manual entry will be more flexible.
