The click.campaign.offsite event allows you to see how many clicks have been counted on your various marketing campaigns.
Since the redirect tagging has been abandoned, it is not possible to measure clicks on a link external to your site as such. The click.campaign.offsite event is therefore an event that is automatically generated by the Piano Analytics processing when the following 2 conditions are met: presence of the "src_campaign" property on a "page.display" event. Implicitly, the presence of a campaign on a page load indicates that a link has been clicked to lead to the site.
This event is assigned a Visitor ID to allow you to do Visitor segmentation on it, but not a Visit ID. Indeed, as a visit can only have one source, defined by the first access, if the event was attached to the visit, then we would not be able to tell you which campaign it is if the event occurs during the visit.
This event should therefore be analysed in its own, in order to see which campaigns contributed to an access to your site.
In the following example, the visitor arrived on the site via a Direct Access on page A. A few minutes later, he clicked on a Sponsored Link that took him to page B. A click.campaign.offsite event was generated at the same time as page B was loaded.
