Trackers, generally associated with identifiers, make possible to track over time the behaviour of a logged-in or unlogged user on an online platform.
Trackers require either the writing or the reading of an information on a user's terminal (smartphone, computer, connected watch, etc.), and are therefore governed by the European ePrivacy directive. The CNIL provides a glossary and a brief history of cookies.
The trackers used by Piano Analytics are listed and described at the following links:
- Web environment: developers.atinternet-solutions.com/piano-analytics/data-collection/general/cookie-storage#client-side-cookies-js-sdk.
- Mobile environment: developers.atinternet-solutions.com/piano-analytics/data-collection/general/cookie-storage#piano-analytics-mobile-sdks (the client/data controller defines, at the time of the library integration, which identifier will be used to identify the visitor).
Note: it is important to distinguish the lifetime of trackers present on users' terminals, from the retention duration of the data resulting from these trackers (see Data retention above).
